As you read your child's paragraph, you notice misspelled words, run-on sentences, and sentences that don't even support the paragraph. It sounds like they're having a conversation with a friend. Writing is an integral part of a child's education. Along with oral answers, writing clearly is crucial for a student to convey his understanding and mastery of the subject. SacramEducate is a huge proponent of well-organized paragraphs and essays with proper grammar. Our writing program will address both of these issues – organization of information and proper English grammar.

Power Writing: Students who will benefit from Power Writing instruction typically exhibit the following:

• Difficulty starting a paragraph and continuing one after it's been started

• The written piece appears as if the student is incoherent or all over the place; there is a lack of focus

• The paragraph or essay lacks adequate details or evidence to support main ideas

• Simply rephrases or parrots the question

• There appears to be frequent redundancies within the passage

The Write Source®: Students who will benefit from The Write Source typically exhibit the following:

• Write with either incomplete or run-on sentences

• Subject/verb agreement errors

• Misspelled words (i.e. there vs. there, to vs. too vs. two)

• Proper nouns are not capitalized

• Writes as if speaking casually with a friend
